Schodack Valley Fire Department Annual Officer Installation Dinner

On Jan 25th 2025 the Schodack Valley Fire Department held it's annual installation dinner and Oath of Office for the Department Officers. The dinner was held at the Elks Lodge in East Greenbush. The event was attended by members of the department and their family members. Arrival of New Chief's Vehicles

Crews battle large fire at a solar farm in Castleton
WYNT 13 News, October 27
Following red flags warnings that were in effect Saturday, a large fire broke out at a solar farm in Castleton.
Crews said that a majority of the more than 17,000 solar panels and 38-acres at the farm were on fire.
Jay Wilson, Rensselaer County’s Director of Public Safety, said about 15 fire departments responded to the fire with around 80 firefighters on scene.
